Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022 Grand Finale

INTRODUCTION Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS), Faridabad was chosen as one of the Nodal Centres for the Hardware Edition of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022, held from 25 to 29 August 2022. The inaugural event took place on 25 August at the MRIIRS campus, and Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi interacted with all participants virtually on 25 August 2022. KEY HIGHLIGHTS MRIIRS hosted 16 selected teams from across India for the grand finale, working round the clock on problem statements assigned by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and the Ministry of Culture. Dignitaries at the inauguration included Dr Sanjay Srivastava (VC-MRIIRS & MD-MREI), Dr Ashwini Aggarwal (Applied Materials India), Dr Sonal Yadav (MoE's Innovation Cell), Dr Umesh Dutta (Director, MRIIC) and Dr Abhiruchi Passi (Dy Director, MRIIC). Each problem statement carried a winning amount of Rs. 1 lakh, with student-innovation prizes of Rs. 1 lakh, Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 50,000. CONCLUSION SIH 2022 is organised by the Ministry of Education, MoE's Innovation Cell, AICTE, Persistent Systems and i4c. Being selected as a nodal centre for the hardware grand finale reaffirmed Manav Rachna's role as a champion of technology, innovation and entrepreneurship.
