About This Event
Introduction
On 25th June 2025, the Manav Rachna Innovation and Incubation Foundation (MRIIF) successfully organized an Outreach Program for school students with the primary aim of inculcating entrepreneurial spirit and innovative thinking at an early age. The program was designed to provide young learners with exposure to modern tools, creative problem-solving approaches, and the mindset required to become future innovators.
By engaging school students in interactive sessions, MRIIF sought to introduce them to the possibilities of design, prototyping, and entrepreneurship, and to inspire them to think beyond traditional classroom learning. The initiative also aligned with MRIIF’s mission of building a strong pipeline of young innovators who can contribute to India’s growing startup ecosystem.
Session Highlights
The program was divided into two key segments:
Hands-on Workshop on TinkerCAD
Students were introduced to the basics of 3D designing and prototyping using TinkerCAD, a popular digital tool for creating innovative designs.
The activity allowed students to visualize their creative ideas, develop simple models, and understand how technology can be applied in real-world problem-solving.
The workshop encouraged participants to think practically, experiment with their designs, and explore how digital tools support entrepreneurship.
Interactive Session on Design Thinking
The second session focused on Design Thinking methodology, a human-centered approach to innovation.
Students were guided step-by-step through the process of identifying problems, brainstorming ideas, prototyping solutions, and evaluating outcomes.
Engaging activities and group discussions ensured that participants applied the concepts actively rather than passively listening.
The session emphasized creativity, collaboration, and empathy, key qualities of successful entrepreneurs.
Both sessions were facilitated by the MRIIF Innovation Team, with Dr. Umesh Dutta, CEO, MRIIF, delivering insightful remarks on the importance of nurturing entrepreneurial skills from a young age. He highlighted how early exposure to such practices can build confidence, problem-solving abilities, and leadership qualities in students.
Conclusion
The Outreach Program was a resounding success, as it provided school students with their first experience of structured innovation and entrepreneurship training. The combination of practical workshops and interactive discussions created an engaging environment where participants could learn by doing.
The initiative not only sparked curiosity and excitement among the young learners but also instilled in them the belief that entrepreneurship is not limited to adults or professionals—it is a mindset that can be developed at any age.
By empowering school students to think like innovators, MRIIF strengthened its commitment to building the next generation of changemakers and entrepreneurs, thereby contributing to the broader vision of fostering a culture of innovation and creativity in society.
