About This Event

Introduction The Manav Rachna Innovation and Incubation Foundation (MRIIF) organized a 4-day Hack & Ideathon exclusively for the first-year B.Tech students of MRIIRS under the Engineering Exploration Program. The event was designed to immerse students in the world of innovation, problem-solving, and entrepreneurship right from the beginning of their academic journey. This initiative reflects MRIIF’s vision to provide a platform for young learners to tinker, explore, and build confidence in technology-driven solutions. By blending technical training with creative ideation and entrepreneurial exposure, the event created an environment where students could transition from passive learners to active innovators and problem-solvers. Workshop & Hackathon Highlights Hands-on Training in Arduino Programming The event began with introductory sessions on Arduino programming and tinkering fundamentals, enabling students to understand the basics of coding, electronics, and prototyping. This hands-on exposure served as a stepping stone for them to apply theoretical concepts to practical applications. Application through Real-Time Projects Students were encouraged to think critically and innovatively, applying their newly acquired knowledge to design real-time projects. They worked on concepts related to automation, IoT, and smart systems, showcasing their ability to identify problems and propose workable solutions. Use of Tinkering Tools Alongside Arduino, students explored Tinkering CAD tools to visualize, simulate, and refine their designs. This integration of digital and hardware tools enhanced their technical learning experience and encouraged iterative improvement of their prototypes. Mentorship & Guidance Faculty mentors and MRIIF innovation managers guided teams through every stage of the process—ideation, design, prototyping, and pitching. This ensured that students not only built projects but also learned the structured process of innovation. Creativity and Enthusiasm on Display The Hackathon witnessed remarkable energy and enthusiasm among participants. Teams came forward with ideas ranging from simple automation devices for everyday use to more advanced IoT-based systems aimed at solving larger community and industrial challenges. Pitching & Presentation Rounds A dedicated pitching session was organized where student teams presented their projects to peers and mentors. This gave participants an opportunity to develop communication, collaboration, and entrepreneurial skills, learning how to effectively present their innovations to a wider audience. Conclusion The Hack & Ideathon was a resounding success, achieving its goal of empowering first-year students to move beyond theoretical learning and embrace experiential, project-based education. The event laid a strong foundation in innovation, teamwork, and entrepreneurship, ensuring that students gain confidence in their ability to create impactful solutions. By working in teams, they learned the importance of collaboration, leadership, and adaptability—skills that are essential for both professional success and entrepreneurial ventures. This initiative aligns with MRIIF’s larger mission of nurturing future-ready engineers and entrepreneurs, equipping them with the tools, mindset, and confidence required to thrive in a rapidly changing world. The projects and ideas generated during this Hackathon mark the beginning of many entrepreneurial journeys, with several participants already expressing interest in further refining their projects under MRIIF’s incubation programs.
